Happy Brian Comley Day - this has nothing to do with Chris Columbus

Many people do not realize that it was actually Brian Comley who discovered America. Well, he was actually just a sailer on the Santa Maria. However, it was Brian who was ordered to the crows nest that cold frigid morning to stand lookout for any sign of land. Lo and behold it was Brian who shouted down to Chris, "Land Ho".

It was a very happy day for everyone. They had not seen land in months. Supplies were running short. Worst of all, the ale ran out the night before and the entire crew was grouchy and ready for mutiny. Alas, that was not to happen. Brian Comley saved the day!

So, the next time you celebrate (not to mention Leif Erickson, Chinese off the coast of California, and countless Native Americans living in North America long, long before) the first European to see what is now known as the USA, a part of North America, be sure to think of Brian Comley and his unique contribution to this historic moment in history.

Thank you Brian Comley!

Brian Comley - thoughts for a Friday

Friday's are the one of the best days of the week. The weekend is upon us. The hard work week behind us. All that lies ahead are two days of rest and enjoyment with our family and friends.

Tomorrow will be a grand day around our home. The kids' rooms remodelling should be completed and that will make us all very happy. The wife and I have been at our wits end, trying to keep peace and tranquility in our home while we all wait for the remodeling to be completed.

We have have a great contractor who is taking care of all the remodeling for us, Brian Comley. Brian is doing a wonderful job. He is truly a craftsman. What he can do with a few nails, a hammer, circular saw and bit of lumbar is truly amazing.

Brian has really become more like a member of the family these past few weeks, while he was working on our remodeling project. Brian Comley, we will miss you when you leave.
